And the Winner of the first Developer Of The Month Is........

Today I closed the "Developer Of The Month" competition for the developer that submitted the best sample for us to put in to our new samples gallery.
So that leaves a little matter of announcing the winners. Yes there are 2 of them. I was in a generous mood when I woke up this morning, well it is Friday after all.
Our first winner is Vitaly A. Repin from IceBrains Software who provided an open source C++ library to make cross platform code easier.
I uploaded this to extras gallery yesterday. It was originally uploaded with the name ++ Skype C++ Development Library, but the publishing software we use point blank refused to link to it. No errors, no reason, no nothing. So to make life easier I renamed it and that has done the trick.
I was never much of a C++ programmer, way to difficult so I bow to all C++ programmers out there, and say well done the guys at IceBrains.
Our other winner is Gordon Wilmot from ICEnetware who provided a sample VB project that demonstrates how to communicate with the Skype API with no ActiveX or COM component. Pretty useful if you are looking for a place to start.
At the moment I am hosting these in the extras gallery and have created a new gallery called sample code. It’s not ideal, but I am doing this so they have a place to live and you can find them.
You can find them at: http://share.skype.com/directory/sample_code/
The samples gallery looks pretty barren right now, I have a few more to put in there but I would sure appreciate the help from you guys. Any sample code you have, even if it’s just a couple of snippets on how to create a contact would be appreciated so we can get this samples gallery going. –
All new entries will be entered in to the October Developer Of The Month competition which starts today.
To enter either:
Email: SampleCode@skype.com (useful if you want to send an attachment).
Or upload: http://share.skype.com/directory/submit_listing/ (useful if you already have the code on a server).
This developer competition is different to the Developer API contest we hosted recently.
The Developer API competition was amid more at larger software projects and hardware. We will run another one of these very soon, so if you have completed a Skype application, have a project in beta, or you have some cool hardware, why not upload the details the extras gallery so you are ready to be entered.
As well as getting the chance to win, you also get to show the entire Skype community what you have done.
The upload link is : http://share.skype.com/directory/submit_listing/
Oh the important thing! What did Vitaly and Gordon win?
They have each won……………. Well I have few items that make up the goodie bag but I promised that the goodie bag is going to be something I want, and right now its not goodie enough so I am waiting for a few more items to arrive next week and will reveal all then.

I hope, this prize is not the last for us! We are preparing the next surprise for skypers. It will be ready for the market in two weeks.
Feel free to contact me and my colleagues - we are happy to answer all your questions about the library on our ++ Skype library forums:

It's pretty simple but very good. No annoying beep like Pamela. It works automatically in the background. The only disadvantage is that you have to manually export files to sharable formats. It would be essentially perfect if it had that tweak.
I think I've tried every product out there, and this is best.
