Developer Contest

As developers we love the chance to show off our coding skills, and if there is a prize to be won then we love it even more.
So how do you fancy the chance at winning $5,000, plus the chance to show your application in San Diego at the O’Reilly Emerging Technology show?
Sound interesting? Well if you are based in the US (sorry the competition is open to US residents or residents from the District of Columbia only) then eBay have launched a developer contest that may appeal.
You can get the details at http://ebay.promotionexpert.com/devchallenge2006/splash.html
If you’re stuck for ideas then they have even provided a handy link full of idea that you may want to use as the basis for your application.
How cool would it be if the winning app was Skype enabled?
Of course if you are a developer outside the US then it’s still exciting times with lots of opportunities to write Skype/eBay/PayPal enabled applications and host them in the extras gallery.

How about a web-based Skype product, based on Flash? Flash players can now access microphone, and video. I've done a bit of experimenting with this.
UNfortunately, I can't enter the competition, as I'm an EU resident.
