mcePhone Video Interview

If you have a Media Center PC then you will no doubt have installed the mcePhone plug-in from Christoph Buenger.
If not, mcePhone for Skype turns your Microsoft Windows XP Media Center 2005 into a full communication machine allowing you to automatically pause live TV when you receive an incoming call, and make calls directly from your TV.
As the plug-in was extremely popular I caught up with Christoph a week ago to find out more about the project.

You can see the recording in the Partner Channel in the Learning Zone.
Christoph has also released a beta 3 of the mcePhone application which is more stable than the previous beta. Install from the Extras Gallery.

ok about skype out. is it possible to have ad supported calls? i mean before each call to a fon onemust listen to an ad then listen for a number to hit on the keyboard within lets say 3 seconds. If the first attemp is ccorrect the person can make the call freefor as lon as he she pleases. This would be ad supported, guaranteeing that the caller PAYS ATTENTION . if each advertiser paid 2 cents per hit it would make skype out free to regular fons. Howmany would enjoy this? Give the caller a choice before each call, skypout at reg price or skypeout free. and lets vote in this manner on this idea...Pt it to the test. Imagine the advertisers out there dying to get hold of an ear for just 15 seconds. Even better if it brings down net to cell calls.levihello gmail

Interesting idea, but the advertises would probably want 30 seconds of the phone call to get their message across and justify them spending the SkypeOut credits. Remember that the SkypeOut credit goes towards paying the phone operator for the use of the landline.
Listening to 30 seconds of commercials every time I want to make call would probably drive me nuts.
agree?

It's a good idea to transmit music by Skype.
I developed a similar application called SkypeMusicShare(SMS), so that I can actively share music with my friend (in contact list) by voice. For example, I just say "play tea-for-two to tommy", then it'll call tommy and play tea-for-two while connected.
I'll try your application later. Thanks for your effort.
