I think I deserve one because I _do_ have a webcam, but it is partially broken. Image is OK, except that the images it produces are all blue. It's very annoying to tell people you're happy during a Skype video call, when in fact you look like a smurf (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smurf).

I think i deserve this webcam because i am in college in New York and I am from Italy. As you know Italians are very attaced to their family. i would like the webcam to give it to my brother in Italy, soo I will be able to see my family and my nephews growing up. I am happy to have the opportunity to study in U.S. but i am loosing the chances to see my little nephews and nieces growing up and also i do not want them to forget about me.

The skype sound compression is human-voice-associated so you can recognize girl or boy, but the most people`s voice sounds same. The web-camera can help people recognize who is speaking (for example at home we use my account all the family, because is not convenient to switch accounts all the time). I use one my friend`s web camera, but he can want it back every time...
So I (we) deserve a webcam.

During the examsn (twice a year, they have just begun a couple of days ago now) I don't get to see my boyfriend for over a month! Thankfuly we have skype to stay in touch with eachother. He can see me because I have a webcam, but since he doesn't own one I can't see him! When you think I'd deserve this webcam, I would give it to him.

At the moment I am in the french part of Canada, in Québec, for one year as an exchange-student (from Germany).

As you probably know, here in Canada most of the people use MSN Messenger (sic!). Me, as Skype-Lover I tried to tell them to use Skype to chat with me (with their webcam!). But, surprise! My Fuji-Digital-Camera with intigrated webcam(tm) just works with the MSN Messenger (sic!^2).

So I have to change this! And quick! Very quick! Please help me

I am here because, my hobby is used to read the messages related to skype, and spread the news about skype to my friends. Actually I am not a programmer. I am a Chemical Engineering doctorate student in Taiwan. But
my origin is India.

For your info, I am using skype for approx. more than 3 years and made most of my friends and family to use skype. Its really wouderful to watch the step by step development of skype. And still I am waiting for more options and services to be added in skype For the past 2 years I am using skype paid services and my expenditure to skypeout is approx. 50Euro every month. And I have 2 SkypeIN number in UK and US which I am using for business purposes, in my name card and also in my website http://www.exomac.com I am really very satisfied with all of the paid services. Also the free services like computer to computer calling, its very useful to call my family and friends. It is really useful for me, because I am away from my home country for the past two years,
one and half in South Korea as a research associate, and half year in Taiwan. Really useful for students like me.

The interesting fact is the call forwarding, it really helped me a lot to forward my skype and SkypeIN calls. The only one paid service which I am longing so much is SMS service in skype. But I know very well that I have to be paitent for some time Another interesing release, SkypeWeb, I am glad about it, and I am using it in my websites. Actually I am using it in every page of my website. In my notebook, for 24hrs, skype is opened! Its become a part of my life, like a mobile phone, and it become a basic need of a human... haha~ this is a bit funny! but interesting!

But I feel I am lacking some thing, do you know what? haha~ its a webcam. I really dont have a webcam for my computer. Some time I used to borrow from my friends to test the skype webcam future. At least you have to be Albert Einstein if you want to understand what is going on technically and I am not Albert Einstein. I have been using Skype for more then one year now and it has helped me alot in many ways. Now that Skype 2.0 is out with video feature, I need an webcam to have video conversations with people and friends around the globe, therefore I need a webcam to communicate

PLease give me one of those , I hate skype and I want to show that those "skypish" webcam can also work with software that respects VOIP standards such as gnomemeeting or wengo. SO people could buy it and use Open standards.

Developping for skype is useless, just as if you would say that you can use anaything else that SMTP to send emails to your friends ....

voice alwayz comes before image...if you have image of whom you are talking to...it really spice up your conversation...it really makes your voice modulated and firm...it really give the impression of truth and sincerity on the person you're talking to...and most of all...SKYPE offers better and good video quality over the net,so i have to try and test it!!!:-)

I have tried to get skype video to work on suse 11 without success. It seems that the webcam is the culprit,I have 3 but none will work. I would like to have a camera that I know will work with both skype and suse 11. I have tried to get answers via the support system but get no reply!!!!!! It would be nice to have one as some sort of consolation prize after trying for over 3 weeks to get it to work!!!!! If I am unsuccessful could you recommend a camera that would work, I will only be able to use the lower quality because of my connection speed.Thanks.

She used to have a webcam but when she moved she could not take it with her, so it's here where her family can use it, but they have no way to see her. I bought a webcam recently (coming from a college kid, they sure are expensive!), and I was hoping to win this for her, so give her as a belated christmas and early birthday gift when she comes home this summer. Even though I'd love to be able to see her on Skype, I know her family would love it even more. So I guess I'm really writing to win this for her. Thank you for considering!

I'm currently on a UN Mission in Haiti for 9 months. I've been able to skype home, but with a webcam, I could actually see my family (wife and son) whom I haven't seen in 3 months.

Deserve? I don't know but I don't have a camera and would really appreciate one. I am a 60 year old disabled/retired police officer. The computer is my only entertainment these days. Not wanting anyone to feel sorry for me, Just wanted you to know something about me.

You have a hard decision to make and I wish you luck. I hope you decide to give me one of the cameras but if you don't that is ok too. You can't give them to everyone.

I don't know if this contest is over or not. I hope not. The reason I think we (my family) deserve this gift is that it's my first time using "SKPE". And it wil be a great expirience for my family. The reason being is a close family of our's just moved to korea and we both have a girl and a boy and they cant seem to live without each other. Before they moved they told us about "SKPE" so that we can stay incontact with each other. since they moved we have been talking with them every single day. We miss their presence and their faces. They are family to us. It will be so thrilling to see them again though it not inperson, their expression on their faces. This will be a priceles gift to us. It would mean so much to all of us.

And i want to make new friends as well, as i Am from Zimbabwe, but i am in New zealand on holiday, and i really cant afford to buy a webcam, i brought a limited amount of money, as you know how Zimbabwe is, things are really bad. And im so lonely and i want to make new friends, even over the internet.

I have beta tested much software and hardware for a company the past 25 years.

I am detailed in my reports and will try to give the best overall testing of anyone on the beta test team.

I would really love a web cam as due to life long illness from childhood trauma which i have not been able to work, & we are on one income. However after been almost housebound for years i can now see the light at the end of the tunnel & i am healing now & starting to get my life back on track, but it is costing so much for all the healing work that i am having, but even though it is worth it we cannot afford such luxuries such as a web cam etc. So i feel with all that has happened in my life, i feel i deserve complete new beginnings in health & a few special luxuries in my life, so winning a web cam would be just so awsum. I had one, but for sure was not good, as now is not working. On other hand now I am looking for a job, so I cannot spend (money and time) as I had other things to do with priority (net work outside UK as it seems that the recession is getting worse than better).
