Hello World! New face in our community

By My status Antoine Bertout on March 12, 2009 in Partners and developers.

Some say Silence is the voice of complicity. I share the point that SDP as some of you knew has been a bit too quiet lately. But again, it does not mean at all we all left the Skype developer community or are working on projects that are not related to serve and support the developer community. :)

Actually we have improve and increase the team (I will let wolli commenting on that later I'm sure).

Many projects for developers are planned and on track to be delivered this year from our team (too early to share) but you know how much we like to share, so stay tune!

But for now, I thought I should thank someone most of you (Extra vendors) work with. Our dear Halina Mugame has decided to move on and actually to go and visit the other part of the Earth.

From Halina's words:

Mark Twain said: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

So I'm off to follow my dream and discover the world -  living the backpacker life for a year or two. I'm starting with Oz - I'll land there at the end of next week :)

I want to thank you all  for everything - being patient when I started or made some mistakes, supporting me to do my job better, discovering and creating new things - and the rest. You (rock) Thank you! (bow)

It's with incredibly heavy heart we will say goodbye to her but guess what! she found her perfect backfill with the recruitment of Kristi Pakler.

From Kristi's words:

I am fresh at Skype, joined just this week. So I try to keep up with Halinas good work and make DevZone better and better. Newsletter and Blog will also be my areas. It's all new and exciting for me and I look forward to work with you all :)

We are very happy to welcome Kristi in our team and she will be working with most of you and of course we wish all the best to Halina.

We will talk to you very soon again.

Halina was the person who opened the door to an exciting project between my organization and Skype. I am so excited about her opening a new chapter in her life, and wish her all the very best!

Kristi - I'm also looking forward to meeting you soon, be it in Tallinn, London, Geneva, or elsewhere!

Warmest regards, and all best wishes to Halina,

I'm not a computer programer, so I was wondering if you could change the skype interface to look more like an appliance, you know, a machine with knobs and stuff and maybe a meter or two.

I tried this and it fits my needs.

if skype is listening i have idea there is an awful lot of unused space on the skype screen while in use. is there a way i could have a screen open that keeps track of: what day it is today, information like birthdays, anniversaries, appointments with the individual im talking to? and maybe connected to a family page that shows something like mom and dad's upcoming anniversary while im talking to my brother or his kids birthdays? not that i cant remember it on my own but its just an easy example. that would be really cool. on another point, when i get new conversations i would really like to be able to click on the little new coversation thing and actually pull it up. instead when i click on the number perhaps there are 3 new conversations i click on the number and it does nothing. i click on conversations and it does nothing. the only way to pull up a new conversation is to pull up all conversations and then i still have to clikc show history. its pretty easy now but it took a while to remember the process. if it can be done id like to be able to hit the button that comes up on the bottom row of buttons on my screen when someone posts a message and pull up that persons skype page and respond easily. for some reason that doesn't happen. if this isn't the right place for a question can you forward this message where it should go? thanks.
