Skype as earthquake emergency tool
By

There are many hazards we may encouter. Some are caused by evil intentions of humans. Others, often causing more damage but largely going unnoticed, are natural ones, such as earthquakes in Japan. [Here's a very recent example](http://nifty.amikai.com/amiweb/browser.jsp?display=2&f_color=009933&url=http%3A%2F%2Ffmobile.nifty.com%2Finfo%2F2005%2F07%2Fskype_9521.html&display=&c_id=nifty&langpair=JA%2CEN) of how Skype is used as emergency communication tool during an earthquake when phone and mobile services are not available. It reads a bit weird because it's a machine translation -- for our Japanese readers, [here is the Japanese original](http://fmobile.nifty.com/info/2005/07/skype_9521.html).
