Skype investor makes first Skype videocall from airplane

We have great investors. Not only did they fund Skype, but they work a lot with us on a daily basis, giving us tons of great ideas and installing latest off-the-press untested alpha builds that tend to break computers sometimes and go through all that. So now we got Howard Hartenbaum make what was probably one of the first Skype videocalls from onboard an airplane. (According to Niklas, [Howard was Skype's first investor](http://www.skype.com/company/founders.html).)

Subject: the world's first skype video call from an airplane
I just got off a video test call from a Lufthansa flight over the Atlantic on Boeing Connexion wifi service. I saw Heidy waving to me from the cafeteria in Tallinn. Excellent video quality. Excellent experience. Video
is going to be huge.

well well ... I am now on a business trip and using extensively skype to stay connected with my friends and family across two continents. Eventually I found that spending (small money) for skypeout is surely worthy. I have to say that is works great, no comparison with that crap of msn (which i am forced to use just for the video)
I probably will soon check SKYPE via wireless connex. on my next lufthansa flight, so that I can say I have been one of the first pioneering this fantastic utility.
WHEN WILL SKYPE BE ABLE TO RUN VIDEOCALLS ?
I would expect it to be with the same quality of audiocalls (no doubts).
I am looking forward for that, I just feel the urge to kick msn out of my programmi's directory
THANKS THANKS A LOT TO SKYPE's PROGRAMMERS AND SUPPORTERS. (N.B. I've not been paid for this
hello everybody

This sounds awesome, although I'm conserned about cross-platform support for video -- how will you support video devices on Mac, Linux, and Mobile Devices? Will these be view-only clients, or will you support the video subsystems in these OSes also? Will there be a bandwidth threshould were Audio conversations will be possible but video won't, or where video will only be possible one-way?

This is of course very cool, but Spontania's Skype-compatible Video4IM has been around for a few months already - if Skype Video will be available for a fee, why even introduce it when there is a free alternative? *fingers crossed for free, superb-quality Skype Video...*
