Customer registration for paid services

Since a few days ago, we require all customers to be registered in our web store when buying SkypeOut, SkypeIn or Skype Voicemail. In simple terms, it means that you cannot buy anything until you have confirmed your e-mail address with us. It is a simple procedure that requires you to just click a few buttons, and the web store walks you through it at the time of your first purchase.

One specific known issue is that sometimes the e-mail may not come through because of restrictive Junk Mail filters -- see [this article](http://support.skype.com/index.php?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=492) for explanation and possible remedies.

Hopefully, this the number of complaints regarding credit not being accepted will reduce. Anyhow, when implementing such a service, please ensure it is fully operation. I have had to request the confirmation three times, as the initial two did not contain any code (blank data)!

Andres, I did not experience the issue today, as I register immediately after the option became available. This was on last Wednesday 10 at approximately 10:00 BST. This is no excuse; please test new services in full prior to releasing them. Some people may just not make any additional attempts. Any way, I hope it has been resolved, as per your post.

I had some problems too, the confimation mail took over 15 minutes to arrive, but what really bothered me was all the legal terms I had to agree on. And the terms were stated in a really small window, not much bigger than this comment window I'm using now. I don't think it was meant to be read, since it was so small. And no, I didn't read it either, hopefully will it work like it did before.

after registring Skype I was trying to load some SkypeOut credit. Then to my surprise, I was takent to a Chinese page to pay??? How can I pay if I do not have a chinese credit card and there is not an option for PayPal payment. There must be a major problem in the program. How can someone registered in the USA taken to a taiwanese website to pay??? Not acceptable. Anyone knows the solution to this problem?

I don't have any spam filters, I have changed my e-mail address several times, but still don't receive the confirmation message with the code. My skypeout credit is almost gone and I need to buy more. I agree with the comments above that, before implementing new procedure, you have to test it to see if it is fully operational.

I opened a support ticket and the message from it arrived very fast. But, unfortunately Skype takes too long to answer the support tickets...

I believe I have solved this problem for Skype... the problem is that the confirmation message comes from the e-mail noreply@share.skype.net and the majority of the internet providers have the word "noreply" on their spam filters. Change it to "no_reply" or "do_not_reply" and the problem is solved to everyone!

I hope I can get some skypeout minutes free for this hint :-)

I sent many of e-mail request resend confirmation cod what I did not get and nobody pay attention on my request. I'm not able to buy SkypeOut Credit because I don't have Confirmation Code. I'm tired to asking day by day to send me a new cod. I'm very disapponted with the service.

What is a redeem voucher. Nobody in Sweden in Swedish Banks knows. I do not posses a cerdit card. No need. But I wish to pay cash to SKYPE OUT. How should I do this tric???

I HAVE WRITEN SKYPE 5 TIMES ABOUT NOT GETTING A CODE. NO ONE HAS WRITEN ME BACK AND ITS BEEN A WEEK THATS HOW LONG IV TRIED TO GET A CODE IHAVE CHANGED EMAIL, USER NAMES NEW ACCOUNTS NOTHING WORKS PLEASE HELP ME SOME ONE. Hi there, I got several problems with Skype, now fixed, so let me share my experience. First, I was unable to buy skypeout credit because my credit cards were all rejected by skype and moneybookers, this apparently for no reason other than that the cards are from Hong Kong, a notorious island of gangsters, finally I got my mum back in Europe to buy the credit for me, it also turned out to be a cheap option since she did not ask me to pay her back. Secondly, when the verification email system was introduced, I never received the confirmation code. There were two problems there, the first was that I had registered with the wrong email, typing .com instead of .net, and while the email wast wandering in cyberspace, I was waiting to no avail in the comfort of my home; after I realised that stupid mistake of mine, I entered the correct email, but the confirmation email never came. I entered another email, and this time I got it! Note that there was, to my knowledge, no spam filter preventing the email from reaching me, so I must speculate that either there is some sort of internal spam filter with my email provider or they are blacklisted or skype does not email people with a .net in their email, or some such strange thing. So if like me you cannot get your confirmation email for no apparent reason, I suggest you try entering a different email. My perfectly valid credit card has been refused payment (see below for details). It is not possible to reach you for information - it looks at this point your business is in a dirty grey area outside the laws of the European Community. Anyway, since you are offering services in this area using the European banking system, I request you to follow the laws and practice, in particular by:
- Avoid taking ANY money for void transactions
- Remove my data and details from ALL your records

If you fail to do so, I will mandate my lawyer to sue you too all possible extents.

I am also a very unhappy Skype user. After making payments for my Skype use with my VISA credit card with no problems, today I was REJECTED. I was rejected trying to pay with the SAME VISA CARD I have used since I joined Skype in May 2005. I know the credit card is good and valid. This is CLEARLY a Skype Problem.

Naturally I get an idiot "form letter" not signed by anyone, telling me to pay with a different credit card, or to use a service like Pay-Pal.

These folks at Skype need a smack, and they also need to understand that we have been part of their success by users spreading by word of mouth the virtues of their telephone service.

Perhaps they should go back to University to study for a degree in "Customer Service"? They really don't have a clue.

Im a good Skype user, with impeccably good credit until Skype rejected me TWICE today with a known good VISA card. Duh!

My only complaint so far, as a relatively new Skype out user is that it has not been possible to find a website that will enable me to access my account and top up my credit from an internet cafe. At present I am travelling and I have been trying to top up the account so that my family can telephone me. There seems to be no way of doing this. It was looking for a way of accessing my account that I cam across this page.
The only consolation for anyone who is not happy with Skype customer service is that Google and Microsoft are reported to be entering the market. That should smarten up your customer service.
