Chinagate-Skype now available to Chinese expat community

By My status Jaanus on January 26, 2006 in Partner news and campaigns.

[We just launched a client with Chinagate.](http://www.skype.com/company/news/2006/skype_chinagate.html) [Chinagate](http://www.chinagate.com/), also known as [wenxuecity.com](http://wenxuecity.com/) is a Chinese ex-pat portal, offering services to people who are mostly originally from China but now live elsewhere -- they say their users reside in over 95 countries. So obviously, most of their services are also in Chinese and unless you can read Chinese, you may not understand too much. But if you're a Chinagate user, just head over to [skype.chinagate.com](http://skype.chinagate.com/) and download your Chinagate-Skype right away.

We know Skype keeps many relations going between family members in separate countries, and that includes many people in China. Living in different countries may be difficult and we're happy to contribute our humble part to make that a bit easier, by letting people keep in touch.

Is anyone as peed off with SkyPe as I am. I joined earlier this week and purchased some credit. When I came to use the credit it had dissappeared! I have tried to contact SkyPe several times now via their contacts procedures (you can't find any telephone number or address for them) and they have not bothered to reply. I have lost money so beware!

For users in China, such as expatriates who do not have international paypal or credit cards to recharge their Skypeout credit, I know this website which can help: www.expatchina.net; you can pay in RMB and then they will take care of the recharge of your account. If you are in Shanghai they can handle it at your home or office. And they also sell Skype compatible usb phones! For more details visit:

I am in JAPAN. My computer's OS is Japanese OS. I have download the Chinagate-skype and installed it to my computer. My question is: May I use the Chinagate-skype for free to make a PC-to-phone (SkypeOut) from Japan to USA or Canada?
