First of all: THANK YOU SKYPE!

A friend and I got a São Paulo-Brazil SkypeIn number each. I got mine this morning (2/2) and he got his in the afternoon.

I know it's probably temporary and due to the newly added load on Transit Telecom's system, but here's a problem report that hopefully will help improve services:

Calls to our newly-acquired SkypeIn numbers are not working when originated from some carriers:

From Telefonica landlines in Sao Paulo: WORKS
From GVT landlines in Sao Paulo: "Number does not exist"
From TIM cell phones in Sao Paulo: "Number does not exist"
From Vivo cell phones in Sao Paulo: "Number does not exist"

Hopefully Transit will be able to provide the service level that's expected from Skype, which in my opinion is excellent!

It's working with more carriers now, seems the system is stabilizing after the short initial boom. Skype is the best, Transit good luck and I wish you competency and success!

Chile, please. CHILE, CHILE. Yet another user asking for Chile

I'm using my new SkypeIn number in Belo Horizonte, MG without any problems. What I've tested so far:

Call from fixed lines - Telemar: works / no caller ID
Call from mobile - Oi (TNL PCS): works / no caller ID
Call from mobile - TIM Brasil: works / no caller ID
Call from mobile - Telemig: works / no caller ID

I'm yet to test the service with Claro mobiles.

Just a note: caller ID doesn't work with any calls to/from mobiles and landlines (incoming or outgoing). Which is bad because a lot of my friends don't answer 'No Caller ID' calls.

What about Canada???

Colombia please. There is a lot of free wifi around and any calls made on a regular phone, even local, is charged at a per minute rate. This would be a great service for those folks in Colombia who earn very little (average $200 US per month.

I worked in Colombia and used Skype every day to call the USA. It worked great. (October 05)

I live in USA, and It would be great if I can get here a "Skype Number in Colombia". I tried to found it in others webs but nothing good. really Skype is the best but please more Skype Numbers around the world.

I've got the skypein number for long distance calls in Brazil to deal with our website's (www.voofacil.com) costumers. Since I´ve bought it nothing happens beyond the message "Number does not exist". I've discovered that's a commmon problem in Brazil and many people are facing it.
My friends, DO NOT buy skypein before checking if there is this kind of problem in your country!!!

It will not be a problem in most other countries because telephone systems are operated more professionally than in Brazil.
This is a common VOIP problem in Brazil. I have had the same thing happen with other incoming VOIP numbers in Brazil, mainly with incoming cellular callers being told that the number does not exist. Meanwhile, landline callers get through just fine.

I think the advice should be "do not buy skypein in Brazil before checking." I have VOIP numbers in a number of other countries and have never had such an absurd problem, where only cell callers get the "number does not exist" message.

I forgot to mention in the above post that my Skypein Rio de Janeiro number works only about one-quarter of the time when I forward it to a real telephone number. It rings, but there is no conversation or only one way conversation. Meanwhile, Skype collects its per-call connection fee and I end up paying that fee three or four times before I actually get to talk to somebody. So Skypein through Transit Telecom in Brazil is next to useless for that purpose.

Having Skype numbers for Argentina would be nice!!!
