Skype Summer Days in August
By
Jaanus on July 31, 2006 in Campaigns and promotions.
There's a little promo we're running through August, which gives you yet again some free Skype Credit. It's a bit similar to the previous Gift Days. You could say that it's the same thing. At least the idea is similar -- on a certain day, if you're in one of the included countries, you go to your account and claim your free minutes (in the form of some free Skype Credit that we add to your account). The dates are as follows. On all the dates, the campaign starts 8 AM GMT+1 and ends 24 hours later.
### Italy, Spain, Sweden
Every Tuesday in August (Aug 1, 8, 15, 22, 29)
### France, Germany
Every Wednesday in August (Aug 2, 9, 16, 23, 30)
### United Kingdom, Poland
Every Thursday in August (Aug 3, 10, 17, 24, 31)

Hello, I received a mail with this promo, but I don't see where I have to make clik to obtain the minutes.
In the last I received another promotion, with 60 minutes of free skypeout credit, I use the credit about 5 minutes and the credit finished
Best regards

Where can I find this promo on http://share.skype.com/sites/de/ ?

I'd strongly discourage to send these messages to people outside of said countries.
Mexico got the shaft as well.
False advertising and spam gives Skype a bad name.

You're maybe good at telephone communication but in marketing and web usability there's a lot you can do, to improve your efficiency.
I was an enthusiastic Sype user and spread out the word to my friends, but I feel since Ebay got you, you're no more customer centric. Too much money in the bank?
Anyway, I have just received an email from your marketing dept. announcing Skype offers me 20 minutes of free call every wednesday in August.
1)Thank you! I found out in this forum that other countries get 60 minutes and Frenchies only 20. Are you racist?
2)There's no link in the email to access the 20 min credit form!
3)You ask me to log into my account to get the 20 mins credits.
I cannot find the form anywhere! So either is a joke or you need some user interface training?
Even France Telecom does it better, there's not much to say....
Can someone tell me if this promotional offer really exists and where I can go to actually get it?
)
(I only have 11:28 minutes left to do it

Does Ireland qualify for this. We are europe but not UK so please dont lump us in with UK
billygalligan | Wednesday, Aug 2
it is indeed quite strange that only the "big countries" in "Skype Land" get entitled to free minutes the last months: USA, Canada and then the countries mentioned above.
It is very clear for me, that although of course for Skype users this is a free gift, there is a marketing goal behind this: Skype tries to increase its user base and paying customers, and they put their energy where they hope to achieve the best results.
Anyway, a gift is a gift, and even if Belgium falls out of the prizes, i am already very happy with the free piece of software and the free Skype to Skype calls (with video!).

@ hrauter.
Would you pls check your links before making people loosing their precious time.
There's no access to any 20 mins credit page, form or anything that make that happen.
It looks like an hoax.
That's really bad !

@Spinroll
The links above work.
You don't have to fill in an special form.
Just click on the buttons and then login with you account.
Some minutes later the credit is added to your SkypeOut Account.

What summer days are you talking about? Summer in North Hemisphere or South Hemisphere??? I want to remind you that August is either in both sides. Why don't you ask to the marketing people to read again their marketing literature. You are not a small town company any more, you cannot go out like thtat offering something it doesn't exist. Worst of all is not giving a formal answer to this bleuf, this is serious stuff. I'll be waiting for my 20 minutes every monday. Next monday I should have acumulated 40 minutes.

How about Ireland?
mousebotherer | Wednesday, Aug 2
J'aimerais savoir si la Belgique aura droit aussi au 'mercredis de l'été' et ses 20 mn (0.34€) de communication skypeout et pourquoi aujourd'hui ce n'etait pas le cas ?

I was confused too until I saw: "The dates are as follows. On all the dates, the campaign starts 8 AM GMT+1 and ends 24 hours later."
So, I need to do this later in the morning!
Why not make it midnight-midnight instead of until 8am the next day?
itwisnaeme | Wednesday, Aug 2
I saw the post of Roberto Livingstone above:
He is indeed right: summer is Northern hemisphere!
And i saw the post of itwisnaeme: he is indeed right, the hours are intended mainly for people in the GMT+1 and "neigbourhood" zones!
And i saw the posts of other Skypers asking "what about MY country?".
Indeed, marketing should be careful!

Ummm, it's gone midnight, I'm in the UK, and it's a Thursday. But there is nowhere to click to claim my free credit even though I'm logged in. I appreciate this is a gift, but the gift seems to have gone walkies.
I seem to remember this happened before, last time there were Skype gift days in UK.
Another piece of feedback regarding this website is that I often have to log in twice - there seem to be two separate login functions. This is really confusing!
Anyhow, I know this might sound like a complaint, but it's not, it's just honest feedback. I love Skype and hope the user experience on this website continues to improve.

Ireland is still missing...you guys think that's a part of UK? lol
