Skype rescues missing cell phones

By My status Jaanus on February 1, 2007 in Skype around the world.

Skype Rescues Missing Cell Phones: Technology Evangelist. Interesting use of Skype as a "backup" dialing system to locate your misplaced cell.

> Skype to the rescue: I simply clicked "Call Ordinary Phones" dialed my cell phone's number, then listened intently for the buzz of my phone in its hiding place. Sure enough, it worked.
And where was it? It was . . . um . . . well . . . on the table . . . behind my laptop's monitor.

My credits expired because I hadn't been using Skype out for some time. Now, when I need to use it, I found out that they call expired. How can I ask Skype to give my credits back?

Hm, I have been doing that for a long time now. I've got a very messy house and I lose my cell phone several times a day. You can also make an extra button saying "Find my phone" that calls a specific number :)

I wished I had that option in 1997.
We were building a house in a forest in Sweden when we received an annoying phonecall of someone who called numerous times before.
Fed up with this person and his stupid questions, ex got angry and threw his mobile away.
Of course we couldn't find it anymore and with no other telephone around, I drove to a nearby friend (25 km) to call our Dutch mobile for ex to locate it in the middle of nowhere..

I am also interested in the expired credits answer, because i have an idea that will also happen to me. Did anyone give an answer to that?

I only use Skype out for in country USA or Canada and those are no charge because I purchased a plan for such calls. BUT I have made no calls to other countries for many months. I also would like to know if I will lose my Skype Out credits and monetary fees paid in to my account. No one seems to have an answer for us.
