Wow, is that a ladybug on your shoulder? Check out our newest beta version with High Quality Video.
Most of you know that free Skype video calling has been around for a while, giving friends and family the opportunity to have a much deeper connection. Well now we’ve improved the quality so much with High Quality Video, it’s like you’re right there with them.
This means that now when you call your mom to let her see little Johnny, she’ll feel like she’s right there giving him a big Grandma hug.
In order to make High Quality Video calls, in addition to running the latest version of Skype (currently Skype 3.6 for Windows beta), your system needs to meet certain hardware requirements.
Want to know more about how you can make clearer, sharper video calls? Find out here.

not sure if I am able to reproduce the issue as you described...
anyhow, simply go to:

...or for direct download

I have just tested above links and both works just fine.

What about a Mac version?
PLEASE ... I already have the "QuickCam Pro for Notebooks" webcam on my MacPro.

Forgot ... I also have an MacbookPro (with a builtin iSight of course). Will future Skype versions will work with this as HighQuality video?
Thank you very much

I signed on to Beta yesterday to download, all seemed to be fine but then when I contacted on of my usual contacts, there was no video replay in the bottom lefthand of my computer screen My contact could see me as usual but the picture on my screen was frozen as a photo. Has anyone else experienced that, maybe someone has a suggested cure, or should I just dump beta and go back to stype 3.5

When are we going to see multi-user video conferencing? Well, OK, low quality would do the trick as well
Really, I would love see this feature.
In the meantime, you may enable video conferencing while on a call with multiple users (e.g. Mom has a cam, but Grandpa doesn't - while talking to them, I should still be able to see Mom)

I think it is good that Skype keeps improving its tools, but I am indeed concerned how it is becoming into bloatware without even having a good contact manager. It would be great to have a small, fast version with a clean interface for truly voice/text/video communications and other with all the "entertainment" stuff like Skype find, Live, etc. If the company finances are not as good as they would be, maybe is because of this, the business is in making people call, not having "fun". I am not saying that the extras are bad, just let people ot choice them.

Wow! Great! But what about Linux version which doesn't even have video!?? What a shame!

Is there a possibility of having video in the Windows Mobile version? Wifi and unlimited 3G plans are available now and it is possible to programatically access the camera of a Windows Mobile device easily (as Ateksoft did).
