On a mission with Skype

In our work, we run into all kinds of stories where people have put Skype to good use in their lives.
Distant lovers enjoying dinner — and each other’s company — over a free video call. Local-government officials replacing meetings with multichats. Homesick soldiers keeping a line open with their families. There are a lot of people who use Skype religiously, but until this post today by our US blogger Howard Wolinsky, I didn’t think of it in literal terms.
If you believe that missionaries tend to be hardline Luddites who eschew modern technology, Malcolm Lanham’s Mercy Ministries/Global Outreach will help prove you wrong. And if you are a missionary who, Luddite or not, has been limited to handwritten letters and once-a-month phone calls, Lanham’s story may help you expand your horizons a bit.

THANKYOU XOX,
Just wanto say thanks:
Because of SKYPE we were able to watch the 6 Nations Rugby Tournament.
Our son,in Wales, pointed his web cam at his TV for us so that we could see it from India!!
Itwas fantastic to see Wales win the Granslam!!!
Thanks again to Dean for pointing the web cam, my husband for the brilliant brainwave and SKYPE for making it possible....
All the Best

Hi there Villu. Yes Kudo's to Skype for it brining the world into a more simultaneous communicative adventure!
I apologize in advance for posting my needs here to you, as i don't really no where to turn to!
I'm wondering if you can help me or at least point me in the right direction to communicate a financial grievance. I'm having difficulties getting my concerns communicated regarding a simple system error. Yes, i have gone through the appropriate channels re Skype Support, and the personnel there aren't willing to even consider there's a system mistake. I have proof.
Will you assist me to be heard by your executives or those who have the authority to correct a possible error?
Thank you again for entertaining this notion. I am hopeful you will help me.
Sincerely an avid Skype user.
Peace

PLEASE tell us when the States will get the 3 Skype phone?
Really the only excuse I'm seeing why it's not out here is because of the 3G network?
And again the only reason you guys are probably saying that is because Verizon, T-Mobile, ATT/Cingular are all on the 2G network.
But you guys are forgetting SPRINT?! It's on 3G actually going to 4G in 2009...and Verizon will just be getting the 3G network then also.
So if thats your excuse thats a false claim
And need a partner, obviously try with Sprint? They have 3G like I said, and yea.
I would really like to have a skype phone for everyone here it's so much more conveniant then a regular phone IMO...
