I have a G3 Ibook running OSX.4.1 600 Meg Memory and 800 Mhz processor. Never had a problem and now I got a logger entry saying my CPU is not compatible with the upgrade and the Skype program won't open.
Unfortunately I can't find and older version to re-install and I cleaned everything out prematurely.

Hi Shutser: you can find older versions of skype at Version Tracker. Just click on the window showing the latest version & all the older versions will come up. Just click on the one you want , then go to the download link below & download it. Don't use the link at the top right of the page or you will wind up with the new version again.

The Version Tracker link will take you right back to downloading the latest version on Skype too. I found and retrieved my backdated version at I Use This: http://osx.iusethis.com/app/versions/8

Latest version of Skype will not work on older hardware and there does not appear to be an archive version of 2.6 or other stable version available. Where can I get a copy of Skype for OS X that will run on my 400 MHz Pismo under 10.3.9?

I have the same Mac specs as Shutser -- IBook G3, 640MB RAM, 900Mhz, OSX 10.4.11. I don't know what version of Skype I had before today, but this morning I made the mistake of checking for an upgrade. I downloaded Skype 2.7 and when it wouldn't work, deleted it and downloaded Skype 2.6.0.184. It doesn't work, either. Is there anything I should tweak to delete or overwrite the Skype 2.7 settings so I can run an older version? I'm assuming the 2.6 version would work.

I downloaded Skype 2.7 because it said it was for a lower OSX. Later I noticed that it said it was for G4 or higher. But by then the damage had been done.

Wich older versiob works with iBokk G3 900 mHz and WHERE can we find it,
like itemplo, i think this is REALY not cool,
A version should be easy to keep for us, and-or it should be more obveous that it won't work..
