Skype for your mobile beta 2

We have released a few days ago an updated beta version of Skype for your mobile. After the release of Skype for your mobile beta 1 we have worked extensively on widening the supported phone range and adding calling support to new countries. Beta 2 supports calls also in Australia and New Zealand also we have added support for 30 new devices. Read more on new features.
We have improved the download process, so now you just need to go to the Skype for your mobile page and tell us your mobile phone number and we will send you a download link straight to your phone.
There's more to add to new features introduced with this beta update. We have also worked extensively on ironing out all the issues found by our users during the beta one.
I'd recommend everyone to upgrade to the new beta version, but to still keep in mind that this product is still in beta state which means that it's still not fully ready for prime time usage, but if you are not afraid of possible hiccups then go ahead.
The newly released build has incorporated following changes and fixes in comparison with beta 1:
* feature: Added support for many new devices
* feature: Added account creation functionality
* feature: Some newer Sony Ericsson phones now have options to auto-start and minimize application
* improvement: Text-input fields now allow predictive text technologies
* improvement: Data and time formats can now be customized
* improvement: faster chats & contacts scrolling
* improvement: Reduced data traffic usage on signing-in and new message notifications
* improvement: Error handling enhanced
* improvement: Call privacy handling
* improvement: Various usability improvements
* change: Application now works always full-screen mode
* bugfix: Messages were lost from previous session
* Numerous bug fixes
* Localizations updates

Yep, great. But when are you going to actually sign the application so I can use it on my RAZR V3xx from AT&T?? Can't even try the Beta like it is. Hrmph.

Skype Mobile is really great, but i can't seem to successfully PERMANENTLY delete old chats which i really don't need anymore. On every new logon, a specific set of chats (but not all?) just keep coming back. Even after reinstall of the app. Rather unpleasant. Is there a known solution to this?
Keep up the great work!

Don't know whether this is the correct place to post or not, but here goes.
Skype on my mobile (Nokia N82) works fine, but if there were such a thing as a "wish list", then how about a tone of some sort (like the REAL Skype) when a contact comes on line/goes off line. Failing that, one needs to keep an eye on the handset to see if anyone appears "quietly".
Just a thought:-)

Hi I am wondering whether Skype Mobile will work without a data plan on my phone, I strictly want to use it when I have wifi available, although the NOKIA E63 is not mentioned on the list, the E62 is, so I do believe it is possible. Thanks

Hi All,
I would also like to know, which mobile exact client to install for Nokia E63 device.
Would be happy to receive your prompt reply.

I'm still randomly swimming (treading water?) in the blogosphere. Two pages previous to this one I read, presumably from Skype representatives: "Thank you a lot to all of you. Please continue to give us feedback how you like the 4.0 beta 2, so we can tweak the client even more."
Will someone PLEASE tell me how "all of you" managed to communicate with the Skype fellows????????? I see nowhere a "Contact us" link or anything like it, via telephone or Internet. There are a few questions I would like to ask, but the predominant one is, how do I remove the check mark from the box (i.e., find the box, because it doesn't show up in My Profile) that I foolishly checked when I installed the program to launch Skype upon startup of my computer? I just want to make it go away until I actually look for it.
That was the predominant question, but now I would settle for a method of being heard by company representatives at all. Is there someone out there who will take pity on me?

i agree i love skype .. but what good is it on your mobile when most of your contacts are in the same country as you, its cheaper to just ring directly thru the mobile provider. Without wifi access to call your contacts instead of it demanding to ring the skpe number it seems a bit of a wate of my time.
