You have been asking for it for a long time on our forums and now it's here.
Start downloading it straight from App Store.

is there any particular reason why it's not available in the Canadian iTunes store?

Hi,
dowloaded, installed on 2G v.2.2 It has plenty of bugs. It goes back to "springboard" unexpectedly. It forgot my password. I had to sign-in repeatedly. In a nutshell it is still very very unstable. Anyway I hope you will fix it all soon and, please, make sure we can also use it to call SIP numbers. FRING made it that way, so you should do it too.

For me Skype for iPhone crashes constantly (longest I've had it run is about a minute). I don't even have to be doing much (e.g. when writing a message). I am yet to successfully call someone (crash on connect).
Very unstable, but great to see Skype visit the iPhone anyway
