Skype for Mac

We’ve released a hotfix version of Skype 2.7 for Mac today. In this new release we’ve fixed a number of problems from previous versions.

We would like to thank everyone who has given their thoughts, feedback and feelings to us. You are welcome to continue discussing Skype for Mac in the Skype Community and reporting issues in our public issue tracker Jira.

The main changes from the previous version are that we have added support for uPnP, NAT-PMP and authenticated proxy which will enable seamless conversations without the need to change any network options.

The changes in 2.7.0.330 in comparision with the previous build are:

• improvement: added NAT-PMP support

• bugfix: 3-4 second delay when hanging up video call
• bugfix: sometimes Skype crashed when applying changes in Edit Profile window
• bugfix: “Add to Contacts” command was not working for 1-on-1 chats in history view
• bugfix: “Add to list” button was cut off in Start Conference and Add Users to Chat windows on Tiger
• bugfix: Safari 3.1 (4525.13) chats time-name were getting cut off.
• bugfix: Abnormal exit on declining two sent files.
• bugfix: Add and remove buttons were cut off in Send Contacts window on Leopard
• bugfix: Add to Contacts command didn’t work in the context menu of the history list
• bugfix: Address Book phone numbers with custom tags were not shown in Skype
• bugfix: Call Transfer menu not updating when new contacts were added
• bugfix: Chats were loosing their topics
• bugfix: crash/hangup on skype credit change when old SMS chats open for long time
• bugfix: default call window height was too small
• bugfix: do not add chats without activity timestamp to event history

• bugfix: outgoing calls that went to voicemail didn’t have icons in the history view

• bugfix: Skype crashed after “Delete all SMS Messages” was pressed
• bugfix: sometimes Skype got stuck in the login process when Address Book integration was enabled

• bugfix: when being signed in on at least two Macs and answering a call on one machine, then ringing didn’t not stop on the second machine
• bugfix: When chats are closed after draging them around, wrong chat gets activated
• bugfix: when placing a call, then sometimes the word “Button” was briefly displayed instead of the phone number
• bugfix: Word wrap in Public chat settings window
• bugfix: Workaround for strange large number startTimestamp on some chats (preventing chat history links displaying)
• bugfix: Yellow alert were hiding chat topics quite often.
• change: Replaced SkypeIn with Online Number
• change: increased minimum size of SkypeOut Caller Window
• change: New User Registration Window: By default, eMail notifications checked
• change: pop-up dialog to enable or disable Address Book integration
• change: sometimes duration of some calls was displayed as 1193 hours in the call history
• change: Sound event for contact coming online is now off by default
• Skype API: BTN_RELEASED NO clears quickfilter field now (previously removed the last character only)

Skype has just laid a new golden egg, Skype 2.7 for Mac. It gives you a good tool for next 100 billion minutes of Skype calls.

We’ve worked hard to iron out bugs and to improve your overall experience while it was in beta and now with the release of Skype 2.7 Gold for Mac we’re proud to announce that it’s ready for production level usage.

Today we have released a slight update to Skype 2.6 for Mac.

Version 2.6.0.184 includes the following changes:

• bugfix: Skype in French crashed when user removed more than two contacts at once
• Updated French, German and Spanish localization

Today we have release a Skype 2.6 for Mac hotfix.

This new version, 2.6.0.182, brings to you following fixes in comparison with previous release:

• bugfix: Compatibility with OSX 10.5 Leopard firewall
• bugfix: After sign out it was not possible to login back on OSX 10.5 Leopard

Today we have made another big step forward to be with Skype for Mac client on the same feature set as we are with Windows.

We have released a initial beta version of Skype 2.7 for Mac Beta version, grab it straight from here. I will remind to you that this is a public beta release, which means that it is not yet fully ready for production use, as it may have some rough edges in.

This new open beta incorporates many amusing new features, like:

• Address Book contacts in contact list
• Auto redial
• Contact groups
• Public chat creation
• Transfer preferences
• Volume slider in call window
• Added Norwegian (Bokmål), Czech (Čeština) Localizations. Thanks to Kenneth Stevenson, Lukáš Vajda.

We have just released hotfix for Skype 2.6 for Mac.

This version has updated audio engine and we are highly recommending for everyone to upgrade.

Audio changes include:

• Skype’s own audio codec
• Skype improved conference mixer
• Skype Jitter Buffer and concealment
• Skype audio preprocessing components

Other changes in newly released version 2.6.0.148 are:

• localizations: all updated
• bugfix: fixed application hangup on handling certain URL links in chat messages
• bugfix: fixed exception (resulting in disappearance of message) on handling certain intentionally constructed “bad” chat messages
• bugfix: privacy policy fix, not accepting multichats from non-authorized users

Just released build is 2.6.0.137 and it includes next changes in comparison with previous beta build:

• new feature: Manage API Clients window
• improvement: it is possible to edit the phone number of SkypeOut contacts
• improvement: added a yellow alert message to chat if notifications are turned off (alertsoff)
• improvement: after dialing a number by using the SkypeOut dialer the call window is not moved anymore
• improvement: contact list and history list filtering improved to better match names which include special characters (for example öüäßøæå)

Today, 31st January, we have released Gold version of Mac 2.5.

It has one new feature and many improvements in addition to multiply bugfixes. Everyone is suggested to update their clients.
