Skype for Mac 1.4.0.39 was released yesterday, but was pulled off skype.com a few hours later. We made a mistake during the publishing processes which resulted in a non-working version being released. We're sorry if this caused trouble for anyone - it won't happen again.

We're now working hard on making sure we have a working release out there asap, and will let you know here once it's done. In the meantime, you should use the latest version which can be downloaded from skype.com.

To manage expectations: 1.4.0.39 is an update to the current version 1.4.0.35. It does not include video.

I can only agree with people who have commented here that we should get Skype for Mac 2.0 out quicker. And that we should have more news on Mac. As a matter of fact we do have news for you guys but Nils is so busy driving Mac projects that he has very little time for blogging.

Meanwhile our motivation to get more features for Mac out fast keeps growing. One thing is your comments, but guess who recently bought his first Mac. None other than Niklas Zennström, one of Skype's founders, himself. I bet he's as keen to make video calls on his brand new MacBook Pro than any other Mac user out there.
