Being involved in both Skype's developer platform and Mac product teams I pride myself on knowing about all of the cool new applications and accessories before anyone else. Everyonce in a while something sneaks right past me that I had no idea was coming and no idea where it came from but am SOOOO happy it came to be when I see it. The latest example is Ecamm Network's Call Recorder for Skype. It is our first dedicated call recording app for the Mac platform and uses the Skype for Mac API to enable super simple, well integrated, and a very Mac OS experience for one click call recording. 1.) Download Call Recorder for Skype for Mac from ECamm Network's Web site here: http://www.ecamm.com/mac/callrecorder . They kindly offer a trial if you are not sure if the app is for you. Once installed it will launch a little helper window along side of your Skype contact list that looks like this:

2.) After installation, open your preferences panel in Skype for Mac. You can adjust the recording quality to tradeoff file size vs. quality of sound, set the application to record all calls automatically, and tell it where to store your files.

3.) Make a call or host or join a Skypecast and press record. Make sure you get permission from the other parties when recording a call as it is illegal in many countries to record a conversation without the consent of all participants.

4.) Edit or compress the audio file as you like and post or share it online. Ecamm provides a handy utilty to transcode their recordings to MP3 with a drag and drop.
