This one certainly works better, but still the problem with not displaying the unread message count remains.

It does not display the unread count while the chat window is not focused - so it is easy to skip an important message if another window covers the chat window, because the dock icon only bounces once and then again looks like nothing has ever happened at all. I am sure that fixing this would be greatly appreciated by many users.
Also the "Check for Update" function does not work. The only way to get updates is to manually check the website on a regular basis.

Thanks for the update, but please at least post a new blog entry more than once every few months! In the age of instant communication it's nice to know that at least something's happening, even if it's only to say 'we're working hard and the next update will be great!'

For the next update, please give me an option to disable the drawer for single person chats. I'm usually only chatting with one person at a time and to have the drawer open every single time I open the window is irritating.

I downloaded this hotfix and my video still does not work! My Macbook Pro built-in camera does not show up as an available camera. Please help!

I just downloaded the latest update and it didn't help
I still get the message that the camera is in use by another application.
Funny thing is, it also shows that I have a choice of selecting a built-in Isight camera which does not exist on my Mac mini.

Why does the download page show a version of Skype for Mac in which the away icon is yellow? I updated and hoped that Skype for Mac would finally have the standard set of away icons seen on Windows and the iPhone, but it still has the green Skype logos with various clocks, etc. on top. Please change it to the green-yellow-red system!

I just got my iMac. The 2.8 version of Skype seems inferior to the 4.1 version I use on my windows PC. What is the difference? and are you going to provide a 4.1 equal version for Mac?

Are you going to do something with the "Incoming Call .wav" file? This sound can't be heard even if you are sitting in front of the computer, let alone if you are away. We need a decent ringtone for incoming calls, something we can hear while away from the computer. Why on earth did you change that sound from the previous version??!?!?!?

I am *extremely* annoyed at this new version. Most of my family use windows and version 2.8 completely fails to display video - no errors, it all looks fine, it just won't transmit video - no incoming, no outgoing (despite showing outgoing video in the little window!). It took us three days to figure out the problem was not due to slow internet but to the upgrade! Once we downgraded back to version 2.7, things are back to normal.
In fact, even more annoyingly, skype prompted me for the upgrade to 2.8 the next day, which I told it to skip, and it installed it anyway! And again I had to manually downgrade.
I am using it under Leopard (OS X 10.5.5), not Snow Leopard.
Please fix?

Still seeing issues after making two calls (to landlines/POTS numbers) where I have a call going and want to add the incoming call to the first call as conference. The Add to conference in the More button DOESN'T do anything...

If I hang up the callers, exit Skype go back in and then call party 1, party 2 then calls me - THEN VIOLA it works when I select "More" "Add to conference"

This bug has been around for a while... the whole conference call stuff on the mac version is NOT as stable as the PC version.

In my cases above both callers are non Skype - Skype calls...

Would be nice to have it simple: When on a call have More show "Add a call" where I can dial a number or a skype contact or show the existing other calls on hold I can merge in. Also when in a conference have an option to split out a caller...

Camera not detected on MacBook Pro with snow Leopard !

There is also another frustrating bug (feature?). When somebody initiates a chat from the Skype for Mac client, the yellow button to minimize the window becomes grey and unavailable, and the only way to fix it is to restart Skype and initiate a new chat with the person myself. I have not noticed this problem when somebody initiated a chat from a Windows client, so there must be some bug with the Mac-to-Mac client relationship. I use Snow Leopard (v 10.6.1).

I'm having issues with snow leopard and Skype when video calling. Incoming video is fine but outgoing video is incredibly jerky or sometimes even freezes. I've downloaded the hotfix but it's no better. Help!!!

I have also found that video is not sent from 2.8.0.772. Video is received without problem whether the other person is running Windows (Skype V 4 and 4.1) or Mac (Skype 2.6 something). I have a MacBook4,1 with 4 GB RAM running 10.5.8. The Technical Call Info window shows an entry for Video Sent but no details. Video Received is fully populated with FPS data, resolution, etc. I always see my video in the window showing my contact's video. I have restarted my laptop, removed all traces of Skype (from Library, ~/Library, ApplicationSupport, etc) and reinstalled but it will not work. Curiously it did work when first installed but only for 2-3 days. All subsequent efforts have failed. I reverted to 2.7.0.330 and it works fine.
In any case, thanks for making and distributing Skype. I really do like it. I also appreciate the difficulty in troubleshooting something remotely and offer this info in hopes that it may help.

In regard to my last comment about inactive minimize button on the chat window. This actually occurs when the message is received when running a full screen application, and receiving a new chat message opens a new chat window. Then this window is not 'minimizeable'.
