22 airports 11 flights (90% of them long haul)... That's a flight every 1.72 days.
While flights wear you out they have become a time that I crave. There's something liberating about being forced to turn off your phone. Being forced to switch off the outside world. Disconnect for just a few hours. My life of late has been all about connection. And when I am not connected, I need to do everything I can to get connected. I need to be constantly contactable, and due to time differences, calls can come at any hour. I need to be switched on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I am visiting so many new cool places that there's always something else that I can capture.
So for me, on this trip, flights have changed from something I dread to something I look forward to... From something that drains and exhausts me to something that recharges and energizes... A rare time that no one can contact me. It's literally the only time I have had to myself, including sleeping time. A time that there is absolutely nothing I can do but shut down and try to get some sleep.
