So I've done one circumnavigation of our planet and I'm back in not so sunny Europe on a big boat filled with Italians tourists and 'work experience tech boy' Simon. How did we get here?
Personally I think the Eurovision Song Contest is pretty random. Never know if I am meant to be taking it seriously of not. It's obviously not that big in Australia... but caught it on board last night- dubbed in Italian- to add to the weirdness.
The winner: Russia with singer, violinist and a pirouetting ice skater. With that combo, there was no way they were not going to win.
Seeings I'm on my way to Russia (St Petersburg) in a couple of days, maybe I will get a chance to congratulate the wonderful Dima Bilan in person. Skype users, there must be someone out there who knows Dima! Or better yet his ice skating Olympian buddy, so I can work on my pirouette? If you have any info on how to get in touch, ping me. I'll be in St Petersberg on the 29th.
Check out the sensational winning performance of 'Believe'.
And Yevgeny Plyushchenko.
