Just attempted 2 use the squat toilet on the train. But due to the rickety motion I failed miserably...and aside from ending up on the wet, dirty ground I copped my first injury. I definitely recommend serious quad training before embarking on a long haul Chinese train journey. I hear fitness first does a mean 'thighs, bums and tums' class. Or, maybe when I get back I will release a 'squats of steel' workout video. The possibilities are endless. I'm going 2 make a fortune.

Great photos from the Yangtze. Particularly like the one with the long wall running along the hillside and what seems to be a giant Toby Jug above.
Hang on - it's not a long wall. It's the corner of a roof. I still reckon the other thing is a toby jug though.
Just read about your trip on a blog and I find the whole idea incredible. Wish you the best and will continue to check on how you are doing. Since I've never been to China, I can't comment too much on it, but if you are ever in Shanghai, let me know because my coworker is from that city and his entire family lives there. Where are you going after China?
I remember the 1st time i used one...
Some of them are so dirty, and some are just a long ditch that run through a number of cubicales...
If you go through Shenzhen on the way to Hong Kong, there is some great shopping there and some really nice parks if you get time.
