Amazon predicts Skype phones will be a top Christmas gift

OK so we are definitely in the Christmas zone now: Amazon.co.uk have announced their predictions for this year's top Christmas presents. My advice? Panic, withdraw as much cash as you can, and get down the shops before everyone goes Crimbo crazy. It's going to get messy out there, it always does.
The Skype hardware team are particularly excited this year as 'Skype wifi phones' made the list for the first time. So come the 25th, Christmas trees the length and breadth of the UK will have shiny new Skype phones under them nestled up amongst Jamie Oliver cookery books, Scissor Sisters albums and ice cool Nintendo Wii consoles.
It's interesting to see how the list has changed from Amazon's 2005 predictions, with DVD recorders and digital cameras being replaced by consoles and phones, in the UK at least. In guess this year has been a 'coming of age' for Skype hardware in many ways (and perhaps for Skype as well?), so I guess the interest in the run-up to Christmas isn't that suprising.
A bit closer to the dreaded date I'll give you a few ideas which phone to buy for all those tricky to buy for family members to make sure there's no tears over the turkey, but for the moment I'll try to say no more about the whole Chr*stmas thing.
Here's the list in full for those too paralysed with fear at the thought of the holiday season to even click on the links...:
