FON invited Skype along to share their stand at SIMO last week, providing a platform for Skype to showcase a few of the latest Skype-certified phones to the great and the good attending the show in Madrid.

For those not familiar with SIMO, it's pretty much the second most important IT fair in Europe after Germany's epic CeBIT. CeBIT has become unbelievably large over the last few years, and whilst SIMO has grown considerably, it is a very manageable showcase for European IT companies, with around 650 exhibitors.

The FON/Skype gang were letting attendees make free calls, as well as showcasing the latest Skype-certified gadgetry from Plantronics and USRobotics.

We already know that the Spanish are mad for phoning, and SIMO proved that the lure of free calls was just too much for the Spaniards to bear, as testified by these pics.

Rumour has it that there is a Skype bus voyaging, Don Quixote-style, across Spain; I have no further details at present so the first person to send in a verifiable photo of said bus will receive a suitably rewarding Skype phone as a prize...
