Hardware offers for US Skypers subscribing to unlimited calling

There's been a good chunk of press about Skype's recently announced unlimited calling plan for US customers over the last week or so. The deal is simple: for $29.95 a year, US Skype users can get unlimited SkypeOut calls to any phone in the US or Canada (and that's been halved to $14.95 if you sign up by the end of January). Users can still opt to 'pay as you go' in the normal way if they want to, but I reckon at $14.95 a fair few will opt for the unlimited option.
What hasn't been reported quite so much is a fringe benefit of signing up: money off coupons to put towards Skype hardware to make the most of all that unlimited calling. New recruits get a number of coupons redeemable upon purchasing a number of different Skype hardware phones and other gadgets.
Apparently one way users can find out and redeem these coupons is by adding a special Skype buddy to their buddy list, and then calling them for details. The name of the Skype buddy is skypehwcoupon. Check out the offers live there now...

I paid $14.95 for the unlimited payment play and it's been over 1 month wherein SKYPE has asked me to buy credits. Repeatedly, I have messaged SKYPE to reconfigure my account so that I can get unlimited free calling here in the U.S., but to date, no reponse, no help. Can anyone offer me advice? Thank you, John

Skype will generally help you after you send numerous emails. Keep trying

What I want to know is can I setup a PSTN system using an unlocked Vonage device, or similar. I will buy a SkypeIn number and then be able to make unlimited calls on a regular PSTN telephone using SkypeOut.

I'm having the same problem. I bought an unlimited monthly plan but when I try to call a phone I am told I need "Skype Credit" to make calls to phones. I've already sent two emails and am told my problem isn't clear enough for them to fix. I already paid for the calls, now I need them to work.

I have purchased a monthly subscription plan a few days ago to call phones and the order status says delivered. However, if I try making a call, nothing happens. Who can I contact to help me?

I have purchased an unlimited monthly to one world country, the order status says delivered. However, if I try making a call, nothing happens. I choose USA and Canada. Now I'm in Indonesia and I when try to call to USA. It is written You need to buy skype credit. I never get this problem before. How can I make calls? Its really important for me. Thanks

I had the same problem. Make sure you're selecting a country code before dialing. If you fail to select a country code it automatically instructs you to buy credits instead of asking you to select a country code, which is a pretty big failure of the software if you ask me.
