X-Series and Skype go underground in Hong Kong

3's X-Series has invaded the Hong Kong metro, with enormous posters plastered all over the stations. Bearing in mind that 3 Hong Kong network provide full 3G coverage in all the stations and tunnels of the metro system, this is a great place to advertise the benefits of being able to make free and very cheap calls via Skype on your 3 X-Series mobile phone.
For the uninitiated, 3's X-Series phones in Hong Kong offer the following for a base fee of HK$88 a month (until March 31st):
- Skype access
- 3Xplorer (a special web browser offering optimised mobile web browsing),
- Windows Live Messenger
- Yahoo! Go, Orb (to access files from your PC), and
- 500MB of data usage allowance
- A choice of great phones including the Nokia N73, LG U830, MotoRAZR Maxx V3/V6, Nokia 6288 and Sony Ericsson W950i:
I've already taken a quick look at the deal, which is similar in scope to the ones offered in Sweden and the UK, here. Full details on the deals available can be found here.
These photos were taken by eagle-eyed Marcus Tempte, himself of Skype phone company In Store Solutions, who provide a range of funky Skype certified phones and headsets. Thanks Marcus - will take a look at your phones soon! Only question I have is this: why is the metro so quiet?? Either you get to work *very* early, or this was very early in the morning on the way back from a few beers?? ![]()
