3 Skypephone Video Walkthrough
By
Andrew Brennan on November 1, 2007 in 3 Skypephone, Skype Mobile.
I've made a little video on the 3 Skypephone, showing off the Skype interface, mobile TV / media player, camera, settings, and Java on the phone:
This is my first video for the blog, so (be gentle!) apologies that the audio levels are a bit wonky. Any other features you want to see or learn more about? Let me know in the comments.

Comments
No problems with the audio. But when making your second video blog, please configure the camera to get the mobile screen zoomed as much as possible. (Off course, if the dispayed data is not secret
)

That looks very slick - would be nice to have in NA, but I can't see that happening any time soon, due to the rather archaic business model the mobile companies have..
- I might have to move to the UK.

Hey there - I know that the Asian countries aren't even listed on your site, but the next time I'm in your part of the world, I will definitely be getting one of these. I was also looking at the viability (in terms of potential demand and infrastructure versus the actual) for countries like Pakistan and other developing nations. Since the adoption rates are so much quicker, might be great successes in countries like these. But great video for the early morning here!

Ditto on North America. Will it ever be available in US?
Also, how does this interface or network with the Internet...is it through cell towers or WiFi?
Thanks

Skype phones are scaring me, I remenber when AOL & MSN tried to lock up the Web & emails with their proprietary protocols. I hope not too much people will get locked down and understand that comunication needs to say Open.
If the skype company bankrupt, isn't the skype phone become useless ? it can be throw away then ?

I've had my new www.amoi.com WP-S1 Skype phone only a matter of hours. Purchased in Sydney Australia as a replacement for an earlier phone used in the "3" Network, I chose the Black against White model. it's a very simple phone so I won't discuss it in any detail, only the Skype side. I found my way around the menus and tried to log in to my existing Skype service but kept getting a message saying I could only do this if I had a "3 Skype phone." What do I have in my hand, so I phoned 3 support service and spoke to a kindly Indian lady who admitted the phone was new to her. However, she followed it up and hit a few keys, telling me it should work within 4 hours. I was more like 4 minutes and I was in but it but with only 7 contact. It took the 4 hours before I had my full contacts list.
Skype to Skype calls are easy and straight forward but here is the big "Knock Back." It doesn't look like you can make SkypeIn or SkypeOut Calls. Am I right? I have made several attempts to phone into my home and business Skypein numbers and get the recorded message saying I'm not available. As for SkypeOut, there doesn't appear to be any provision in the phone to dial a number via Skype.

OMG!
Will it ever be available in Brazil?
How it works...Is it necessary to pay per month or just the credits like on PC?
Thx
