Mac the Skype

A serious news day today: This afternoon Skype released a new beta version of its software for Mac OS X.
The program packs all manner of swanky features into its slick new interface. There’s support for nine languages, an improved contacts list with simplified search, and an Easy Dialler tool for calling landlines and mobiles. Mac users will also be able to import Apple’s Address Book (below) and call contacts directly with SkypeOut.
As if that weren’t enough excitement for the Mac pack on a sultry afternoon, Skype for Mac starter packs were launched today, too. The packs include a USB stereo headset with microphone, all wrapped up in a specially-designed carrying case - plus a voucher for free SkypeOut minutes. Skype, you are spoiling us.
