Skype login problems - an update
By
Peter on August 16, 2007 in Skype announcements.
Hello everyone,
Apologies for the delay, but we can now update you on the Skype sign-on issue. As we continue to work hard at resolving the problem, we wanted to dispel some of the concerns that you may have. The Skype system has not crashed or been victim of a cyber attack. We love our customers too much to let that happen. This problem occurred because of a deficiency in an algorithm within Skype networking software. This controls the interaction between the user’s own Skype client and the rest of the Skype network.
Rest assured that everyone at Skype is working around the clock — from Tallinn to Luxembourg to San Jose — to resume normal service as quickly as possible.

Good news then. And I'm looking foreward to skyping agian, hoping that the slight instability i noticed the last days too will be solved with this.
Best of luck, and many thanks to you guys fixing this!

Your news update could simple inform whether you have a time prediction to return or not. Are the clients that need skyping during those days going to be compensated by this horrible gap?

I made a payment of $10 on August 13th to my account acknowledged by an email from you. Today, after Skype came on line again, my balance shown was 0.20 but was at 10.00 last night. Where has my credit gone as I certainly did not use that account to send that many SMS', This is urgent because I am reticent to add mroe money to my account if it disappears into cyberspace. My account profile even shows the payent as confirmed.

Why is there no telephone number to contact a person at Skype.
Secondly, when I try to send a Customer support, after filling in all the details it will not allow me to type the description of the problem in the area designated for this - just after the problem statement. When I click on it to write in the coment nothing happens. I have a 17" MacBook Pro with 10.4.10 and the computer is completely up to date.
